Patternum Novum: Citron Grand

You guys remember Citron, right? Well, over the past couple of years I've received lots of requests for instructions on how to make it bigger - and I even made a bigger one myself - as well as lots of questions about how the garter tab cast on works. So I finally sat down, did some math, and decided to make it official.

Citron Grand is an update of the original Citron pattern that includes a photo tutorial of the cast on and detailed instructions (as well as yarn requirements) for up to 10 sections of Citron, and it comes in a handy pdf format.

Here with 7 sections.

The pattern is available via Ravelry (no account required) as a download for $3.

Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Lace (for an original flavor Citron) in Lettuce, or Wabi Sabi Yarns Lush Lace in Peacock (pictured), 435 - 1445 yards (398 - 1321 m)

Needles: US 6 (4mm) circulars

Gauge: 24 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Sizes available: 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 10) section repeats

If you like Citron, you'll love Citron Grand!

A few other miscellaneous items:

* Last week I returned from a trip around the world (Literally. We flew east to get to our destination and west to get home.), so I'll have more to share about that later.

* Since I'm finally over my jet lag, I'm finally getting organized, and it looks like I'll have two more fun giveaways coming up soon!

* Yesterday, I did a guest post for Whip Up -- check it out if you'd like to hear about the not-so-glamorous parts of pattern design.

* Today is my 32nd birthday. I'm starting to feel like maybe I'd like that number to stop getting bigger every year. :)

Love the larger version of Citron! Have a wonderful birthday, Hilary. We're around the same age, and I agree that the number is getting a little scary.

Can't wait to hear about the trip.

Many happy returns of the day, Hilary! I'm knitting Indicum right now and am enjoying it a lot. It's the first pattern by you that I'm trying and I'll surely return for some more.

I loved your guest post on whipup.net on the design process, I shared it with my knitting teacher. She is doing a class right now on sweater design, and wants to share the post with the class which I hope is OK, giving you credit of course. Thanks for your insight.
