Home Again

After a wonderful trip to North Carolina, I must admit that I am not thrilled to be back home again (well, back at work again...home is just fine). Neill and I went for a wedding, and made it a grand tour of his pre-California life, visiting relatives, graveyards, old churches, houses, and Elon College, where he went to school. The whole thing was amazing and I finally felt I was able to get to know some of my extended family-in-law a little better. I miss them already.

And there was knitting. Oooooh, there was knitting. The great thing about being obsessed with this craft is how it changes ones perspective on travel. Five hour delay in Chicago at 9pm because the pilot didn't feel like showing up? Whatever?! More time to knit! I only have good photos of one finished item, but there are a total of four. Four! And that's mostly knitting there and back, not much in between. I'll post the first Res Completa report tomorrow, but for now wanted to share some images of the trip.

There were walks on the beach...

Some family bonding time...

A very fun wedding...

With an awesome band...

Neill's Grandmammy's gorgeous house in Erwin (originally owned by her father-in-law)...

Neill's late great aunt's amazing home in Winston-Salem (she was instrumental in turning Old Salem into a historical site and was a pillar of that community)...

And perhaps the cutest baby in the world...

Good times were had by all.

Isn't it fun to go visit your husband's history? That happens every time we go back east to visit Travis's family. I swear, after 8 years together, I learn something new about him each trip. I especially like watching the subtle changes in his personality...did that happen with Neill? Sounds like you had a wonderful time :)
