Res Completa: My So-Called Scarf

Pattern: My So-Called Scarf, from Sheep in the City
Yarn: Manos del Uruguay Wool, 2 hanks of color 109
Needles: US 10 straights
Start to Finish: October 26-31, 2007
Modifications: Nihil.

Notes: This scarf was begun during our massive flight delay in Chicago (I had finished Le Slouch and needed something to do!), I knit on it all the way around North Carolina, and finished it on the plane ride home. It will be a very nice reminder of our trip. The colors remind me so much of fall, too...the yarn really was a joy to knit, though I'm usually not one for variegated yarns. I mean, I love what other people have done with them, but the vast majority of the time I'm a simple, one-colored-yarn type of gal. This Manos though...phew! It's gorgeous. A few places in each hank, during the transition between orange and pink, the most amazing color would appear and I thought I would die it was so pretty! This stitch pattern brings out the colors and the thick-and-thin texture beautifully, too. Even the wrong side looks all colorfully bubbly!

I'm tempted to keep it, but think it will make a very nice Christmas gift.

Gorgeous! Manos was made for the so-called scarf, I swear. Such a really lovely fall colourway you chose!

Thanks for the happy thoughts on my green sweater. I love the colors of this scarf -- it makes me very excited to cast on for a few of these in Malabrigo (though I do not have your willpower, and will most certainly be keeping one for myself!).
