My Best Friend Flicca

First of all, this whole getting dark at 4pm thing is a BUNCH OF CRAP! Either I wait until Saturday morning to take any sort of blog photos, or they are horrendous. Today, I chose horrendous, which this project is NOT. Let me introduce you to my friend Flicca:

It is freaking me out how quickly this sweater/jacket is coming along. I started knitting this exactly one week ago at about this time. One week ago, people! That is how long it took to complete the back, both fronts, and 6 inches of a sleeve. I know the gauge is 3.5 sts/inch, but this is ridiculous! At this rate, I'll be done days before my deadline (the 22nd, when we leave for North Carolina). Hooray! This sweater has been on my queue for months, and I am so excited to be knitting it...and almost done with it! I'm using Jaeger Extra Fine Merino in color 010 (light grey, like Anna Bell's original) and am very happy with it.

In other knitterly-related news, I got a lovely package from Keri over at Knitty Gritty Thoughts, from whose Etsy shop I bought a hand-sewn small project bag (it's a present for my Grams):

My dilemma is whether or not I should open this lovely package! I'm dying to see the bag and all the little details (like the strap for hanging the bag on your wrist while knitting), but it just looks so perfect. Maybe I'll get one for myself when/if she puts more for sale on her shop...geez, I've got to stop thinking of more things to buy when I have Christmas shopping to do!

Wow, Hilary! I know you told me how quickly this was knitting along, but to actually see the progress... Amazing =D

It's looking great!

I hear you on bad lighting- I live in a really lovely basement apartment, but the soft golden light that I consider to be really cozy and warm does NOTHING for my knitting photos. Flicca is still looking great, though!

Hehe - you're so sweet Hilary, thanks! =)

Flicca is gorgeous, I loved this pattern but haven't gotten around to knitting it up, now at least I can live vicariously through you!
