These Dashings were made for my sister in-law (brother's wife, not husband's sister) out of Cascade 220 in color 8401 on size 6 bamboo dpns. Fun pattern!
Next up were a pair of Indigo Knucks for my cousin Shellie, who used to babysit my brother and me for entire summers at a time and whom I thought was the coolest person alive, both for her super-cute boyfriends and the fact that you could spell her name on a calculator.
These were made from about half a skein of Midnight Rowan Felted Tweed on US 4 dpns.
Another pair of blue Knucks I knit for my Aunt Chris, mother of cousin Shellie (3177345 -- look at it upside down. It says Shellie!). For these I used a skein of Jo Sharp Silkroad DK tweed. I LOVE this yarn. It was extremely soft and the pink flecks were so pretty!
Now, the final pair to be shown today apparently caused some drama at the annual Carlson Family Christmas Eve Gift Exchange (or so I hear from my mother). Aunt Chris had no idea I had knit the Knucks for her, and when she saw these, she thought it would be her only chance for some knitted mitts, so she stole 'em! Well they were stolen again, and again, and of course reaching the 3-steal maximum, were frozen. But she didn't get them - my sneaky cousin Susanna did! At the end of the night, my mom presented Aunt Chris with her Knucks, and immediately upon catching sight of them, Susanna decided she wanted those instead! So she put on her sweetest face and talked Aunt Chris into trading with her -- which worked out well, because Aunt Chris actually thought the brown would go better with her wardrobe. Everyone was a winner! Though I'm sorry to have missed it all this year...
Anyway, these mitts are the Wristwarmers from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, made from Artfibers Kyoto (oooooh, aaaaah) on US 6 dpns. I added a little thumb instead of just leaving a hole.
Before being wrapped, all the Christmas mitts got together for a little party...
...and I breathed a sigh of relief that they had all been finished in time.

yes, those were a HUGE hit! It was a lot of fun and I wish you could have been there! Everyone loved your work and were very impressed. I've been meaning to email you to thank you for the kids' hats! They are adorable! I'll try to get a picture of them soon.

LOVE the dashing! your family members must have greatly appreciated them. i so need to break the yarn diet and get some suitable yarn.
