Knitty Gritty Gifties

Last week, I came home to the most thoughtful, creative, awesome package, so lovingly put together that I couldn't help but get a little emotional (ok, so that's been happening a lot lately). Keri of Knitty Gritty Thoughts had sewn and knitted up a whole box of precious gifts for the little one. You just have to see this stuff.

First the sewn:

Little onesies and burp cloths embellished with the most adorable fabric -- little sheepies with trees and little monkeys! Plus one "blank" onesie and burp cloth set that I can do something similar with.

A whole stack of her Favorite Wipes (click for a great tutorial!)...

...which came in the owl variety...

...and the giraffe variety. And, let me tell you, the velour on the back side is just about the softest thing I have ever felt. Let me tell you also how awesome Keri's sewing skills are. This stuff is impeccably made. I am hoping she moves to California so she can give me some lessons!

All of these fabrics are so great -- they're darn freaking cute, but the colors don't scream BABY.

And for the knitted:

Wool longies!! I am so in love with these little knitted pants...they look so cozy and warm and I can't wait to put the baby straight into them.

So Keri was my very first knitblog friend. She left one of the very first comments on this blog back in June 2007, after which I became an enthusiastic follower of hers (she is a super talented crafter, has great tips on simplifying your life, and the way she captures it all on her blog is just so clean and lovely), joined her Fingerless Mitts knitalong, and we've been corresponding in one way or another ever since. Keri really gave me a great deal of encouragement in the beginning of my knitting/blogging adventures, for which I will be forever grateful. And, well, her handmade baby gifts really meant a lot. :) Thank you, Keri.
