Warmth and Kindness

Yesterday I came home to a crinkly package in the mail (don't you love when that happens??) and opened it up to find this inside from the lovely author of The Knitting Blog by Mr. Puffy the Dog.

The wrapping was so pretty and obviously done with such care that I almost didn't want to open it further! But I'm so glad I did, because inside was this absolute gem of a baby sweater:

The colors! The stripes! The warm wool and squishy, squishy garter stitch! I immediately teared up. Again, I will say that this knitblog community we have is amazing. I have never met Claudia in person, but she was kind enough to take the time to knit my baby a sweater. I just wish he were here so I could put him in it and give both him and the sweater a hug at the same time! This is one of those things that I will hold onto for his entire life.

And in baby progress news, I'm almost there...

I don't know Claudia, but she the took time to complement my efforts with one of her patterns. Isn't the internet grand? And the baby sweater is precious.

That cardigan is so lovely. Nothing sweeter than stripes on a baby. I have to stop myself continually casting on new stripy projects for this one.

Oh, and you look great! So much neater than me (3 weeks to go over here). I've actually gained less fat than last time, but I have the bump of dooooom.
