Patterna Nova: Astro-Inspired Knitscene Collection

Thanks so much, everyone, for your lovely reception of Glacerie!  Yesterday turned out to be a pretty big pattern day for me.  The Knitscene Summer '13 preview went up, and I'm excited and honored to say that I am the featured designer in the issue!  Along with my profile, I got to design a three-piece garment collection, which was inspired by the astronomical sights I'm surrounded by at my day-job at NASA.  I'll go into more detail later, but for now, here's a little sneak peak...

Saturn Cardigan (details on Ravelry here) in Shibui Sock

Eclipse Top (details on Ravelry here) in tosh merino light

Wavelength Tank (details on Ravelry here) in Blue Sky Alpacas Skinny Cotton

I can't wait to tell you all about this collection -- I had so much fun designing it and playing with color options. Seeing the pieces again also takes me back to last summer, when I was knitting them. After the long magazine lead time, it's always so rewarding to see your work styled and photographed on a model. I can't wait to get my hands on the magazine!

Speaking of which, the issue will hit newsstands on April 16th, but if you're itching to start knitting these or any of the projects in it (there are some beauties!), you can download the digital edition right now.
