Patternum Novum: Beau Cardigan

A couple of weeks ago, Knit Picks came out with a couple of gorgeous new collections, one of which focuses on its utterly luxurious cashmere-content yarn, Capra (and its little sister, Capretta).  (P.S. If you haven't worked with this yarn yet, you really should - it's amazing.)  The Capra Collection includes six patterns from independent designers, and my Beau Cardigan is among them.

Beau is a modern and feminine take on the boyfriend sweater, with classic raglan shaping and a v-neck, and a pretty contrast ruffle for added girliness.

And, my favorite, pockets!

Beau is knit entirely in one piece from the top down, with the button bands worked as you go.  Once the piece is done, you simply add the ruffle and pockets and you're good to go.

Some more info...

You can purchase the Beau Cardigan individually on the Knit Picks site, or you can order the entire collection as an ebook or in hard copy.  I encourage you to check out the whole collection -- there are some real beauties in there, including the fabulous Dendrochronology by Teresa Gregorio, which I want to cast on immediately.  (In fact I may buy myself some yarn for it right now...)

What a lovely cardigan. It has a fresh look but yet has a touch of Downton Abbey too ~ just stunning!
