Clearly, It's in My Blood

Or, Proof That It's Genetic and That I Am Not A Crazy Obsessed Freak

Below are two pictures of my amazing and wonderful maternal grandmother, the one who taught me how to knit.

Picture #1: Driving to a Giants game. Notice what's in her hands?

Picture #2: At the Giants game. Again, what's in her hands? Do you also notice that even as she smiles for this picture, she keeps her focus on her scarf progress?

Clearly, she didn't just teach me how to knit, she passed on a genetic love for it as well!

For someone who raised eight children (SIX OF THEM BOYS!) on a strict budget, all the while working as a nurse, and managed to live through it and be a wonderful part of the lives of her 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who can make, fix, or grow anything and takes more international trips (many of them mission trips) than someone 1/3 her age, teaching an obnoxious blonde-headed 10 year old girl to knit is probably low on her list of life accomplishments. But I will certainly be thankful the rest of my life for this gift she has given me.
