A Knitty Christmas

Check out the fun, knitterly things I got for Christmas!

(Ok, Quantum Leap has nothing to do with knitting, but I'm just as excited to have received this, too.)

Sensual Knits, by Yahaira Ferreira, and The Knitters Book of Yarn by Clara Parkes have been on my list for quite some time and it was torture to continue with Christmas morning activities before diving into them. The jacket on the front of Sensual Knits is gorgeous and already in my queue, but I think I may start with my second favorite from this book, the Seeded Cables Cardigan, because I think my Malabrigo merino and silk will be perfect for it:

I also got this fabulous sweater from my ma-in-law and sis-in-law:

I'm wondering if I should rip apart my Blackberry sweater (love it, but don't wear it very often) and make something similar.

I've also done a little shopping here in Asheville, NC (home of my in-laws). Yarn Paradise had Koigu ends for sale. Have you ever heard of a more brilliant idea? They ranged in price from $4 to $10 -- a great way to get a little collection together for some fair isle mitts or some such colorful item.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

Amazing books, Hilay! I love how your long sweater turned out. It (and you) looks fabulous! Hope you and Neill are having a wonderful holiday.
