Res Futura: Amande

Having a baby truly does diminish ones mental capacity, at least when it comes to anything not related to babies. I was looking through my knitting photos recently and realized something: last year, I knit a vest, wrote an entire pattern, took pattern photos...then completely forgot about it. ?!

This is Amande (named for the almond-shaped buttons and what we called one of my high school best friends, Amanda, in French class). It's made from a single skein of Cascade Eco Wool and though the shape is pretty simple, the construction is somewhat unusual and it has a funky racerback cable in the back:

And pockets.

I remember now that we took these photos on the day I found out I was pregnant. Ah, so long ago! I wonder if I'll ever look this well-rested again...

P.S. Remember to leave a comment on this post by Friday for a chance to win 10 Secrets of the LaidBack Knitters!

Love the vest. Hope you have it sized for those of us of larger proportions. I like vests because they are versatile.

I can't wait until this is available! It's such a spunky vest! Or as spunky as a vest could be, I suppose :)

I have to say that I really adore this vest. It is perfect, a simple but well shaped front and this surprising back.

I know the feeling of "post pregnancy dummies". LOL. I feel like I still have them 9-months later, but not as bad.

Love the pattern and end project. It's very cool that you have this "just found out I'm pregnant" picture.

The vest really is cute. Think I will try it. Yes, you will feel rested again -- as soon as he graduates from college.

The sweater is great, so fun and unusual in its styling.

This morning, I was looking in my closet for something to wear and thought "I really need a vest. I wonder if I could find a knitted vest pattern that would suit me." And then I see this post. Serendipitous? I think so! Please write this up for us soon, please, please, pretty please!

Awww, this is awesome! Love it! And also love that you have a record of the day you found out you were preggers! I totally agree with you 100% though that you will never be that well rested again. I don't think I'll sleep good till I'm like 60 and even then I prolly wont :)
