A few different things

So I'm going to do that thing again where I apologize for my lack of posting and try to explain why it happens, but this time I'm also going to offer a solution. Obviously, part of my blog neglect is this guy:

And, more specifically, the fact that he now does things like this when we're not paying close enough attention:

(Yes, those are the same Hanna Andersson Christmas pj's from this post. He's still wearing 'em.)

But a really big part of why I haven't been posting very much since he was born is because there is only one small corner of my home that gets the right kind of light for decent photos (seen here, here, here), but since converting what was our office into a nursery and reshuffling all the extra furniture, that small corner now looks like this:

Not great for photo shoots.  And so embarrassing.

BUT. I think I've finally figured out a solution and I'm not really sure why it took this long. Shall we practice the new method with a quick Res Completa post? Let's do it.

Pattern: Peponi, by me
Yarn: Wabi Sabi Yarns Glow sock yarn, 1 skein of Orchid
Needles: US 6 (4mm) circs
Start to Finish: A few days in the beginning of June

I whipped this up to display at TNNA* when I noticed that the original golden orange didn't really "go" with the rest of my knits. I am completely in love with this yarn and this color.

And one last item of business: Twitter. I've had an account for a couple of years now, but am finally using it more than once every six months. This week, I've been chronicling my mission to knit a sweater in 7 days (summary: new design almost complete, #$@% lying gauge swatch, gigantic sweater, ripped out last weekend, can it be re-knit in time for TNNA?!)**. Now that I've got the hang of this newfangled Twitter thing, if you want to be friends, please come find me -- I'm @theyarniad

 ------
* Oh yeah! I'm going! If you're going, too, please come say hi -- I'll be exhibiting in the Deep South Fibers section, sharing a booth with Ann Kingstone.
** By far the best, and most unexpected, part of this is that my little brother's friend from college keeps tweeting me things like "PROGRESS PICS!" I had absolutely no idea he had any interest in knitting.

I really like the scarf. Don't know how you get anything done with a toddler, but still gotta ask ... when will the pattern for the scarf be forthcoming?

great job on the scarf! also, of course there's no need to apologize. your little guy is so ridiculously cute though. haha love that he's such a climber. my guy is too.. he's 4. but he's been climbing like that since he figured out how to stand ;) xo

Your nook is a perfect combination of the things you love: books that are too complicated for any of us to read but that you devour, a picture of Papa, an SF Giants hat, yarn ready to go, and a "Raising Boys" book. Absolutely perfect :)

I think your photograph solution is great. So colourful and lovely! I'm hoping to be able to make it to TNNA some time, if possible.
Glad to see you round the Twitterverse :)

Love the shawl! And good luck with that sweater...that is, as I'm edging away from the crazy that will probably ensue. :)

Awww! He's just the cuties little monkey ever!!!! Those PJs make him look like a Dr. Seus character and I would have him wearing them until he left for college lol

I so get the demanding men in your life ~ but wouldn't trade a minute. Okay maybe a minute for myself :)

Seriously you knit that in a matter of days - it's fabulous! What a great Summer design ~
