Res Completa: Baby Polo

So I still have no actual baby to dress up (on the outside, anyway), but here's another little man-inspired thing I'll put him in when I do...

A little, tiny striped polo shirt made out of almost exactly two skeins of Rowan Cotton Glace and US 5 needles. It was very simple, with little raglan sleeves and a seed stitch collar.

A couple of years ago when one of my favorite LYS's went out of business, these two balls of Cotton Glace were left alone on a shelf at their final sale. For some reason, I have no idea why, I grabbed them and thought, "I HAVE TO MAKE SOMETHING WITH THESE FOR MY BABY." Never mind that, besides simply having a husband, I was nowhere near having a baby. And also, navy and yellow? Cotton? Not sure what screamed "BABY" to me, but I'm glad I had them when it came time to knit for the little one. The only thing that bums me out is that the navy bled into the yellow a bit on the front of the shirt. But it's ok...I'm sure it will be covered in various forms of baby spit and such anyway. :)

What a great little tee for him. Hope you'll post photos of the real model in all these great knits! It's a shame about the bleeding, but you're very right that you'll probably not even see it!

What a sweet little tee - after a few spit ups and a few washes, I'm sure the bleeding won't be noticeable!

I need to get on and finish the last couple of projects I have planned before baby appears in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can squeeze in time for a polo shirt...

How did I almost miss this post??? So adorable ~ his first polo! Love how the seed stitch collar softens up the look for a baby. Was just checking in to see if any word.....
